Statement

Creating at the crossroads of arts, technology and service design, I explore human experience as a central element in both my artistic and strategic work, drawing from themes of psychology, spiritual beliefs, archetypes, and symbolic systems that shape how we interpret reality—especially in the era of personalized digital media.

I’m particularly interested in the ways we assign meaning to, interact with, and perceive algorithms—questioning their definition, purpose, and place within nature - viewing them not merely as human-designed commands, but as something more unknown: a kind of memory pattern that expands beyond computing systems. Inspired by the tension between the visible and invisible, the material and the abstract, I create at the intersection of traditional and digital arts, forming a new language and perception of reality - combining art with digital product design.

My work is rooted in the intersection of psychology, spirituality, and science. It acts as a dialogue with the viewer—an open invitation to reflect, and feel. This process not only helps me navigate the complexities of contemporary life, but also offers a chance for others to engage with their own perceptions and experiences. It is both an act of resistance and connection—an effort to stay true to my instincts, to listen to my internal “Google” and my own ChatGPT, and to remain fully human in a world increasingly shaped by synthetic coding. As an artist, I aspire to continue my research and design experiences that act like couples therapy—navigating the relationship between us and the algorithms.

Bio

Alicja Milesi (b. 1991, ƁódĆș, Poland) is a Polish-Italian artist and creative strategist based in Switzerland. With a career spanning over 15 years, she has lived and collaborated with a range of institutions across Poland, Mexico, and Switzerland. Her work is consistently grounded in a fascination with visual storytelling and the complexity of human experience.

While coming from the traditional Polish school of arts, she has been engaged in an ongoing affair with service and product design. Her interest in digital technologies and user experience design has looped back into her personal artwork, enabling a unique creative process through a broader palette of digital tools and techniques.
‍
Her work exists at the intersection of traditional and digital arts, where the physical and tangible coexist with illusion and abstraction. Deeply informed by psychology, archetypes, and symbolic systems, her artistic practice explores how perception is shaped—especially within the hyper-personalized reality of the digital era.

Alicja has collaborated with leading marketing and tech companies, contributing to the design of user experiences while maintaining a critical lens focused on ethics, perception, and meaning. Her current research investigates commercially driven technologies and algorithmic systems as creative media. Through this lens, she challenges dominant narratives of capitalist civilization and examines how value and truth are assigned in an age of information saturation.

Driven by a sustained curiosity about human experience, Alicja’s work stems from primary research and aims to engage audiences in open-ended conversations. Her use of visual and spatial forms functions less as representation and more as provocation—encouraging viewers to question, interpret, and negotiate their place within complex systems.
